Construction Superintendent

Required to have a minimum of 10 years experience with construction in the power industry. Required to have 5 years experience directing craft labor on construction projects in the power industry. This individual provides daily direction and supervision to the General Foremen on the project.
The project is located near Brawley, California (2hrs East of San Diego). Please submit candidates local to Brawley, CA only. The proposed work schedule is 7AM-4PM with an hour for lunch.
Job Description:
General Contractor seeks a temporary contract for a full time Superintendent to manage all field activities, subcontractors, and communicate directly with customer. The Superintendent's role is one of leader, coach, negotiator and arbitrator with leadership being critical to the project's performance. General Contractor has contracted with a Public Housing Authority to complete energy efficient upgrades inclusive of lighting replacement, Domestic Hot Water Heater replacement, Exterior Heat Pump replacement, and Window replacements.

Safety
o Ensure that all subcontractors participate in a safety pre-construction meeting prior to starting work on the project
o Review the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with all OSHA and governing requirements and the project safety plan
o Conduct weekly safety Tool Box Talks
o Complete weekly safety inspection reports and provide paperwork to safety director
Quality Management
o Oversee sample installation of each scope item for approval of customer
o Inspect Subcontract work to ensure the work meets approved sample installation requirements
o Inspect work for completeness prior to customer inspection
o Document completed work and conduct walkthrough inspections with customer
o Receive sign off from customer as acceptance and submit to Project Manager
o Ensure all work is inspected by local jurisdiction
Scheduling
o Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field
o Assist and implement the Project Baseline Schedule based on the project contracts and subcontractor input, taking into account any elements that might impact the schedule
o Provide input to help maintain the schedule and ensure that work performed is consistent with the contract and will meet or exceed client expectations
o Provide input to project team to help update project schedule monthly
o Provide progress report with the three-week look ahead of schedule to the Project Manager and the customer
Sub-Contractor and Site Management throughout the project
o Manage site pre-construction including pre-construction survey, job site utilization and staging plans
o Organize documentation of the job site
o Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards
o Work with PM to identify and resolve personnel issues and construction process revisions
o Manage all phases of the construction process including documenting and reporting site activities and progress
o Communicate with Owner daily to ensure access to tenant occupied areas
Meeting Management
o Attend project turnover, mobilization, and project coordination meetings
o Attend/chair safety pre-construction meetings
o Attend/chair weekly safety meetings
o Attend/chair monthly schedule review meetings
o Attend/chair closeout meetings
o Attend owner meetings
o Attend/chair subcontractor meetings and any others necessary to monitor and manage the project
Administrative Management
o Complete daily reports and maintain logs of key activities, files, and shop drawings
o Maintain required safety reporting and all other required files to General Contractor standards
o Record daily subcontractor Labor hours and provide to Project Manager every Friday
Experience and Qualifications
o Must have a minimum of 5 years of commercial superintendent experience
o Recent Commercial Construction experience is a must
o Must have specific experience with the replacement scope included in the project
o Must be able to pass a full background check
o Must have reliable transportation
o Must possess computer skills capable of utilizing Microsoft Office applications
o Must have a phone capable of receiving email
o Must be capable of reading and understanding blueprints and design specifications
o Must possess problem solving skills, communication skills, assertiveness, leadership, and willing to complete tasks consistent with the General Contractors requirements
o Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates will receive higher consideration.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
