Summary:
Responsible for helping to improve the knowledge, skills, abilities, and health of the District's employees through a continuous learning philosophy.
Responsible for designing and delivering effective training and development programs and for conducting ongoing needs assessments.
Essential Functions:
Conducts internal educational needs assessment to determine needs.
Designs and implements a wide range of instructional programs and materials including business related courses such as leadership, customer satisfaction, communications, computer usage, etc.
Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training/education opportunities to evaluate and measure results to demonstrate effectiveness at changing behaviors, enhancing skills and abilities, and/or increasing utilization of hospital services.
Develops and implements train-the trainer programs and coaches others to be involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities within the organization.
Leads the development, enhancement, and execution of the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program ensuring knowledge of the organizations key strategic goals and initiatives, while also ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with the Human Resources Department on the appearance and content of the on-line annual re-orientation program.
Works with Human Resources ensuring full employee compliance.

SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND
Experience:
A bachelor's degree in education, business administration or liberal arts or at least 3 years of teaching equivalent; at least two years of experience in a business setting, preferably in human resources.
Knowledge of teaching techniques, adult education, and evaluation methods.
Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills; Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
Strong working knowledge in word processing, presentations, and electronic media.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current BLS Instructor certification strongly preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
